AMP (Advanced Manufacturing Partnership)- The AMP program is a partnership between students and AMP partnering employers that provides training and income while earning an Associate Degree in Tooling and Manufacturing or Industrial Maintenance. The student application period runs from December 1 – March 1, and all cohorts begin the following Fall semester. http://www.grcc.edu/amp

Manufacturing Employees at WorkSkilled Trades Training Fund (STTF)- The STTF will provide competitive awards for the development and implementation of employer responsive training that will enhance talent incomes, productivity, and employment retention, while increasing the quality and competitiveness of Michigan's businesses. The STTF program will ensure Michigan's employers have access to the talent pipeline they need to compete and grow, and participants have the skills they need for in-demand jobs. The program will create and expand collaboration between the Michigan Works! Agencies (MWAs), economic development, and educational agencies by funding demand-driven training that addresses talent shortages hampering the growth of Michigan's priority industries. This program is available for a limited time and is based upon State funding.

Customized Training Program (CTP) -The Customized Training Program provides funds* for employers in Kent and Allegan Counties to upgrade the skills of existing employees in order to retain or maintain employment, enhance their wage earning capacity, add to the viability and productivity of the business or avert a layoff situation. This program pays 50% of the cost of training up $25,000.

Michigan Work Ready Communities (MiWRC)- Michigan Work Ready Communities is a voluntary initiative led by community leaders that links workforce development to education, aligns economic development needs of communities, matches appropriate applicants to jobs based on skill levels and strengthens and grows businesses in your area.

Manufacturing Day– Manufacturing Day addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. By working together during and after Manufacturing Day, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry.
